The future for cannabis
Plasma water
COLD PLASMA DISINFECTION
Non-thermal plasma is widely considered as an effective technology for applications in agriculture. Particularly, numerous reports studies have highlighted the role of plasma-activated water (PAW) for cannabis seeds germination, plant growth, stress tolerance, and antibacterial ability.
The Science
PLASMA ACTIVATED WATER FOR CANNABIS
Plasma Activated Water (also known as "Plasma Water") has been shown to:
-
Increase rooting speed
-
Reduce water consumption
-
Enhance seed germination
-
Stimulate plant growth
-
Prevent pests
Results show that water-activated during moderate time, 10 to 20mn, contains reactive oxygen and nitrogen species at relevant concentration levels to have active impacts on seed germination and seedling growth. Germination potential significantly increased by about 117%, 56%, and 77% after 15mn of treatment, for the first 3days, respectively, compared to control.
Positive effects of PAW treatments were registered on the growth parameters of seedling including stem and root length, leaf weight, leaf area and chlorophyll content, and the vigor of seedlings. Chlorophyll content significantly increased by 220% for PAW- treated 15mn and by about 165% for PAW-treated 20mn, respectively, compared with control.
By replicating natural processes:
How it works
A gas discharge (plasma) is initiated via a plasma power supply in
an oxygen and nitrogen containing gas flow. This ionizes the gas flow,
creating ions, radicals and reactive species. This discharge will provide
a number of key chemical processes:
-
The plasmachemical production of NO and NOx.
-
The plasmachemical production of ozone.
-
The plasmachemical production of reactive
species including (but not limited to)
OH, HO2, and O(3P).
